A to Z (or not)
One person calls it an axle, one person calls it a spindle... If we all call it the same thing, less confusion will occur.
Also, this will have additions most likely triggerd by debates I see on FB cycling pages so what happens next is anyones guess.... From brass vs. alloy nipples, to chain/cog/chainring width debate.... Stay tuned, if you dare.

Cambio... Not derailleur, not deraileur... Cambio..... Pick up a Campagnolo Cambio box.... Does it say Derailleur on it ?
NO!!!! It says Cambio.... Debate closed.

Campy... Once had someone tell me, it's NOT Campy, iTS Campagnolo... IT'S BOTH !!!!
Chains - Modern chains, that you can buy in bike shops, ebay, etc come in a variety of two... short of different colors. The two varieties are 3/32" and 1/8"width. The differences between these two sizes is the distances between one plate and the other. The distance from pin to pin does not change. (Yes, this is a debate I've had more than once).

Derailleur - Or deraileur, or changer.... Or Cambio... See above under 'C', for cambio.

My biggest pet peeve.... The term 'fixie'. A fixed gear is a FIXED GEAR!!!! If you're 18, just found the world of riding fixed, fine... but it's still FIXED GEAR.... NOT FIXIE!!!!!

The Greatest of all time - Define when. The Merckx era, clearly and absolutely, Eddy Merckx. Anyone that knows the sport agrees on this. Then there is Pre-Merckx (actually much earlier), when road racing was rare, and any major event was held on a velodrome. For this era, one must definitely look at Major Taylor, clearly the best. Date wise, turn of the 20th century.

Track Forks - Track bikes do NOT have rear drop outs... they have forks... No, not like the front of the frame set... Like a pickle fork... One of the things that I learned from Sheldon... Click on the photo to the right to see what he had to say.... Want to argue the point.... OK, Sheldon was right, and YOU'RE WRONG !!!
Tied and Soldered - This recently came up on a FB group. While most builders don't do tie and soldering anymore, there are some people that would swear by this, in making a stronger wheel (myself included).
Trikes (Racing) - I've never seen one of these in the US. In the UK, trike racing used to be very common. I understand these things are a real pain to handle, as well as other issues. Neat to look at, but wouldn't want to ride one.

More to come.... Much much more
