Me...

I've not worked at many bike shops, but  I've definitely collected my own box of tricks and gimmicks.  There are some bicycle related issues that might throw me for a loop, but not many.  It's not been that rare for someone to throw me a question, that most people wouldn't be able to answer, and I've gotten the answer to it almost immediately, even to my own amusement.

I already stated, I've not worked in that many bike shops.  I'm a retired tech worker, having gone from lowly pump operator in a vacuum tube manufacturing facility, to an engineer working on state of the  art spectroscopy and microscopy equipment... That is until the bubble burst.

Once the dot.com bubble did burst, I found myself out of work, and out of doors.   I lived outside for 10+ years, making a living as a street musician on the streets of  downtown San Jose.  A far cry from my tech days.

Eventually I got off the streets through the assistance of some people that I can only refer to as  angels of mercy.  I'm now living indoors, I don't (and won't) work on any tech gear.  I don't usually do anything in the music field, it takes more practice than what I want to put in,   and I don't spend much time at a bike shop,  as my vision is shot, and I prefer not to deal with people, up close and personal anymore.
